Rotoscoping. Retouch. Wire removal
Is an isolation of the specific object from a photographic plate. If an element is to be put into the background of a plate, or behind the actors – I digitally cuts out or paint away wires, safety equipment, crew, lights so you would never realise it was there.
Chroma keying. Green screen
Is a technique for mixing two images together, when a color from one image is removed, revealing another image behind it.
Matte painting
Is used to create your ideal location, changing sunny scenery to snowstorm or building the old castle in the studio. CG images can constitute entire sets, or extend portions of a shot environment. The paintings can be projected onto a 3D environment, allowing for camera movements.
Color grading
Is an artistical process of balancing the colours of the footage captured on set. A specific look can set the atmosphere add or enhance a distinctive mood and tone to a final imagery.
Compositing
Is the the final step of assembling multiple layers into the final image. Live action footages are combined with 3D creations, matte paintings, FX elements and other plates to give the impression the dreamt imagery was all captured on set. Colours are matched, green-screens are keyed, light wrap is created, ground interactions are formed and any number of lens warps or film effects added until the seamless shot is created.
Motion graphics
Is the term used for visual elements (video and/or animation, stills etc.) used to create the illusion of motion or transformation. Motion graphics can be applied to many areas of digital media. Whether it's titles or lower thirds for your program, visuals for a band or dance group, elements for a conference or sprucing up a presentation so that it looks the best it can be. I can produce bespoke animations to suit the needs of your project.

Is just one step in the process of digital video production, but I'm able to offer a complete service, allowing for production as well as post, so that you can have your production shot, edited, graded and authored in house, resulting in a high quality deliverable be it for DVD or the web.
